The moment on this shirt lasts about a second. Two cards come off the felt an inch, the hand behind them does not move, and the rest of the table carries on with the conversation it was already having. Eight-nine suited never looks like anything. That is the whole appeal of it.

Drawn inside a stone arch: two players across a green table, chips stacked at the rail, and the hand lifting the corner of eight-nine of spades. The title sits small underneath, where a caption goes.

Printed on a garment-dyed blank. The dye goes in after the shirt is sewn, so the colour sits a little uneven along the seams and softens with washing instead of going patchy at the shoulders.

Black only. The drawing has its own greens and browns; a second colour underneath would fight them.
