Description
In 1982 Jack Straus was down to almost nothing at the World Series, stood up, and found a single chip that had been sitting under his napkin. He played it back into a win. The phrase that came out of that night — all you need is a chip and a chair — is the most quoted line in poker, and the only piece of optimism the game reliably rewards.
Set across the chest with the 89s monogram beneath. Printed on a garment-dyed blank: the dye goes in after the shirt is sewn, so the colour sits slightly uneven along the seams and softens with washing instead of going patchy at the shoulders.
Three colours. Pepper is a warm charcoal with brown in it. Black is a true black, not a washed one. Flo Blue is a faded indigo that reads almost grey under a card room light.

The detail
Cut and fit
How it is cut
RelaxedClassic
- Relaxed fit
- Cut straight and roomy through the body. True to size.
- Twill-taped neck and shoulders
- A tape sewn along the seam so the collar keeps its shape instead of stretching out.
- Double-needle hems
- Two parallel rows at the armhole, sleeve and bottom. It is what stops a hem curling.
Fabric
Fabric weight — 206.8 g/m²
LightHeavy
- 100% ring-spun cotton
- Spun with a twist that makes the yarn finer and stronger than standard cotton.
- Garment-dyed
- Dyed after the shirt is sewn rather than before. The colour sits a little uneven along the seams and softens with washing instead of going patchy.
How it is made
- Printed to order
- Nothing exists until you buy it. No warehouse, no forecast, nothing incinerated unworn.
- Printed regionally
- A United States order is produced inside the United States, a European order inside Europe.
- Sizes S to 2XL
- Blank sourced from Honduras.
Looking after it
- Wash cold, inside out Garment-dyed cotton has already been through a hot process at the factory. Cold water keeps what colour it has left.
- No fabric softener It coats the fibres and dulls the print. Nothing else is needed.
- Dry flat or tumble low High heat is what shrinks a heavyweight tee, not washing.
