Description

Every casino has a card room, and it is the odd department out. The slots and the table games play against you; the card room does not. The house takes a rake and keeps the list, and the money moves between the people in the seats.

The lockup borrows the shape of an athletics department shirt — the name in an arch, the crest, the department underneath. A card room is run like one: a floor, a list, rules that do not bend for whoever is winning.

Full chest, in cream, the letters broken up before they went to print. It starts where a shirt usually ends up after a hundred washes.

Printed on a garment-dyed blank. The dye goes in after the shirt is sewn, so the colour sits a little uneven along the seams and softens with washing instead of going patchy at the shoulders.

Four colours. Black is a true black. Espresso is lighter than the name suggests — a warm mid brown, not a dark roast. Red is the red of the diamonds on a deck, deep rather than bright. Washed Denim is a pale blue with grey in it, a work shirt after a summer.
