Description
Eight-nine suited is a suited connector: two cards of the same suit, one rank apart. Connectors connect — that is their whole function, and it is why they are called that. They do not win often. They win big, and quietly, when the board runs out and nobody saw it coming.
The other thing that connects is the table. Six people who would otherwise have drifted apart entirely still sit in the same room on a Friday, and have done for years. Both meanings are true at once, which is the point of the phrase and the reason the label is named after a hand that has to be earned.
Set across the chest with the 89s monogram beneath. Printed on a garment-dyed blank — the dye goes in after the shirt is sewn, which is why the colour sits a little uneven along the seams and softens rather than fading out.
Seven colours, from Pepper and Graphite at the quiet end through Espresso and True Navy to Crimson and Red for anyone who wants it read from further away.

- A tape sewn along the seam so the collar keeps its shape instead of stretching out.
- Double-needle hems
- Two parallel rows at the armhole, sleeve and bottom. It is what stops a hem curling.

- Spun with a twist that makes the yarn finer and stronger than standard cotton.
- Garment-dyed
- Dyed after the shirt is sewn rather than before. The colour sits a little uneven along the seams and softens with washing instead of going patchy.

Looking after it
- Wash cold, inside out Garment-dyed cotton has already been through a hot process at the factory. Cold water keeps what colour it has left.
- No fabric softener It coats the fibres and dulls the print. Nothing else is needed.
- Dry flat or tumble low High heat is what shrinks a heavyweight tee, not washing.
